Dear Colleague:

Welcome to a new year with the Long Island Museum Association, Long Island's only professional organization for museums and historical associations!

LIMA has long provided member associations with professional development opportunities. Past activities have included:

• Attendance at LIMA sponsored educational workshops and symposiums, each focusing on a different issue or area of interest to the museum and historical society community.

• Participation at a reduced rate in the Annual LIMA Conference. This all day event is filled with panel discussions, seminars and workshops. This is an exciting and informative event - one that you and your co-workers will not want to miss.

We have some exciting changes planned to increase the opportunities to network, learn and collaborate with fellow museum professionals:

• Informal "roundtable meetings" held at various venues across Long Island, each addressing a key topic affecting our member institutions. (If your organization would like to host a meeting, please indicate this on your application.)

• Greater use of the LIMA Listserv. (Be sure to sign up at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/longislandmuseumassociation.)

• · More updates on our enhanced website: www.LIMAmuseums.org (LIMA membership includes a listing on our site and a link to your site!)
